Cash for Caulkers Stimulus – a measure to stimulate the economy

category: Programs for Caulkers author: programc

Recently, the American President introduced a stimulus package that involves home owners, building store owners, contractors, manufacturers, energy companies, energy contractors, installation workers and others. What the President is quite simple really. Just like the cash for clunkers program, the President here wants to prod the American home owners to make their homes and buildings energy efficient. This is seen by many experts as a move that will have far reaching impact on reviving the economic situation of the country.

Targeted at the home owners, the cash for caulkers stimulus plan provides rebates ranging from fifteen hundred dollars to three thousand dollars for those home owners who come forward and make their homes more energy efficient. Under this plan, consumers who make simple changes for making their homes energy efficient become eligible for rebates of up to fifteen hundred dollars. Likewise, homes that go for a complete retrofit will become eligible for rebates of up to three thousand dollars. Unlike other rebate programs, consumers can avail this rebate directly from the building stores on purchase of materials, from installation companies or building contractors.

The cash for caulkers stimulus plan is seen by many experts and commentators as a genuine effort to kick start the sagging economy and at the same time infuse confidence in the building construction industry. Further, it is also seen as a move to reduce the carbon footprints and make the US as a more energy efficient nation. The entire stimulus plan is expected to generate more than five hundred thousand jobs and serve as a stimulus to the overall economy.
